Enjoy a cocktail with your friends...

...all for a good cause! I am a HUGE fan of St. Louis Effort for Aids and the wonderful work they do throughout the Midwest, particularly in awareness and services provided to those with HIV / AIDS. This is your chance to aid their ultra important PAWS program, just by enjoying an evening out with your friends this Thursday, Aug 26.

NITTY GRITTY...

5th Annual Thirst For Life

Thursday, August 26th 2010

More than 25 establishments will donate 20% or more of their beverage sales on August 26th to support Pets Are Wonderful Support (PAWS), a program of Saint Louis Effort for AIDS.

Visit a participating establishment to support the furry family members of PAWS.

The PAWS program is funded entirely by individual gifts, Thirst for Life donations, and additional private donations. Your support at this event is VITAL to keep the program running and successful.

A little bit about PAWS...

PAWS (Pets Are Wonderful Support): PAWS provides education and services to people living with HIV/AIDS, so they can keep pet companions as long as possible. PAWS strongly believes in the human/animal bond of companionship and works hard to ensure that clients do not experience the loss of pets due to financial hardship, lack of transportation, or hospitalization. Pets provide a source of unconditional love and support that is irreplaceable to people living with HIV/AIDS.

How PAWS Helps People and Their Pets...

•Provides pet food and supplies
•Allows access to discounted veterinary services
•Supplies heartworm and flea and tick prevention medications
•Facilitates pet education for people with suppressed immune systems
•Coordinates transportation to veterinary appointments
•Schedules foster care when owners are temporarily unable to care for their pets
•Supports finding a new home for their pet if necessary
