In bloom at Casa de Nenonen...

Memory and smell are so intertwined, that a familiar scent can immediately transport you back in time. I’m curious: What smell triggers memories of your childhood home?

For me...

...peonies. The flower bed beneath my childhood window was lined with them. Every May, as the weather warmed and our windows opened, their sweet fragrance filled my bedroom. To this day, I can’t resist the temptation to bury my face in their gorgeous pink petals. Home.πŸ’•

What’s yours?

2019 Behr Color of the Year: Blueprint, S470-5

Trend Lovers- Behr Paint just announced their 2019 Color Of The Year...

Blueprint, S470-5.  It is a strong, mid-range blue that is definitely more likable than the trending colors of years past (ahem, Ultra Violet... I am talking to you). These announcements typically foreshadow fashion and home trends for the upcoming year.

I can see this color being a HUGE hit in home accessories, accent doors, and kitchen islands as blue has been the "belle at the ball" for awhile as it is.  Feeling blue, friends?πŸ’™

The 2016 Pantone Colors of the Year: Rose Quartz and Serenity

For the 1st time ever, the global color authority Pantone anointed two colors of the year in 2016...

Closely watched by the design industry, the annual announcement is usually a tip-off to the trends that will be seen in home dΓ©cor, fashion, and design that year.  Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of Pantone’s Color Institute, stated “We wanted compassion, which today a lot of people are looking for inducing feelings of stability, constancy, comfort and relaxation to create balance in a chaotic world.”

In addition to endless fashion options, Pantone suggests using these colors in home accessories such as candles, decorative bowls, vases, and florals, adding that they’re “an ideal choice for rugs and upholstery where you can combine solid and patterned fabrics, throws, and bedding in these shades".

I took to Pinterest above to show a few practical applications of the dynamic duo.  Love it or leave it?

Photos of St. Louis tornado damage...

St. Louis, along with the bulk of the Midwest, experienced frightening weather last night: heavy rain, hail, wicked winds, and numerous rotation funnels spotted across the Metro.

This AM, I did a "round-robin" of a handful of properties that I am currently working with/prepping to list to ensure that they weren't significantly damaged. In doing so, I stumbled upon MAJOR damage.

A few scenes from my AM...

Nothing that insurance can't remedy though a headache for homeowners, most definitely.

The video below, taken last night, is absolutely insane...  though gives you an idea of the magnitude of the storm!

It is a total relief and blessing that St. Louis reported very few injuries!
