St. Louis, along with the bulk of the Midwest, experienced frightening weather last night: heavy rain, hail, wicked winds, and numerous rotation funnels spotted across the Metro.
This AM, I did a "round-robin" of a handful of properties that I am currently working with/prepping to list to ensure that they weren't significantly damaged. In doing so, I stumbled upon MAJOR damage.
A few scenes from my AM...
Nothing that insurance can't remedy though a headache for homeowners, most definitely.
The video below, taken last night, is absolutely insane... though gives you an idea of the magnitude of the storm!
It is a total relief and blessing that St. Louis reported very few injuries!

Tornado Damage in Maryland Heights...
Most St. Louisans spent Saturday Night in the basement...
In addition to tornadic rotation, photos of hail the size of a baseballs were being tweeted and mobile uploaded from across the Metro...
The Central Corridor was the hardest hit within the St. Louis County region this weekend. Today took me to my Maryland Heights office, the Coldwell Banker Gundaker Corporate Headquarters, and I was shocked to see the surrounding tornado damage! Warm thoughts of our friends in the Central Corridor today, as they deal with the headache of insurance claims and repairs to their homes and cars.
A few pics from the Maryland Heights area...
Luckily, the majority of the damage was mild compared to previous tornado updates here on the blog!

A peek at New Years Day...
A far cry from last year's unseasonable New Year's Eve tornado, January 1, 2012 was nothing but lovely. So much so, we wasted a better part of the day on the trails at Longview enjoying the perfect beginning to a brand new year.
A peek...
Happy New Years, dear readers!

Stock up on the canned goods, people...
A tornado on New Year's Eve in St. Louis...
Talk about ringing in 2011 with a bang?!
Umm, yeah.
I will not even begin to touch upon the frightening climate changes that would lead to such a bizarre and unusual event. Period. That is an entirely different post. Actually an entirely different blog all together?! Regardless, yes we in St. Louis were blessed with an unseasonable tornado on New Year's Eve. Actually, several of them were spotted across the St. Louis region.
Unfortunately, the Nenonen Family's personal zip code was one of the unlucky ones that was visited by one of the numerous rotations spotted around the Metro area. Here is the damage that occurred in my neighborhood as we all hunkered down in our West County basement...
