The St. Louis City Garden Winter Wonderland At Night

Last night, we were Downtown for dinner at Peacemaker and a theater event at the Peabody Opera House. Afterwards, we enjoyed a late-night stroll through the City Garden to take in the holiday scene.  If you have not yet done this locals, please do!  Terrific.  A peek at the whimsical fun...

Fun, fun, fun...

How thoughtful of Mayor Slay to commission such adorable floral accents for all of us to enjoy at the City Garden this past Easter weekend!
Except...

Please insert Scooby Doo-esque *dah dah dahhhhh* now

...these pieces were not commissed at all. In fact, it is not your imagination if you see mysterious floral arrangements popping up all over town, as many of the local sites/neighborhoods are being secretly adorned by a group calling themselves "The Guerrilla Florist".

Per their website...

"Guerrilla Florist is a collaboration of artists committed to promoting the art of floral design by placing floral art into the community! These pieces may relate to public works of art, the nearby architecture or stand on their own as works of floral sculpture."

Personally, I am crazy about the concept, I adore their work, and I can't wait to see what they do next!! Too fun...bravo!

Check out this local blog link...

St. Louis Daily Photo is one of my favorite blogs. It's always interesting to see the city from someone else's perspective, and simply, Mr. Crowe takes gorgeous photographs.

This is my favorite as of late...

If this photo doesn't make you want to visit the St. Louis City Garden at sunset, then I don't know what will?!

Modeled after Millennium Park in Chicago, it is 2.9 acres FILLED with sculptures and water features designed to be climbed on, explored, and appreciated by all ages. Phenomenal addition to the city.
