I declared my adoration for vintage pigmented Vitrolite long ago in this blog post. This weekend, however, I hit the art deco jackpot in THIS University City home! All 3 bathrooms in this property have the original Vitrolite not only in tact, but in mint condition.
While the property was not a match for my client, the gorgeous historic bathrooms were worth a little blog shoutout. So special.

2nd week of May: the good, bad, and ugly...
Spring market is in FULL effect which means a lot of time for me spent out and about with clients, exploring different areas, properties, and neighborhoods. I see a lot of interesting things on a daily basis, but these things stuck out to me over the past week- the good, bad, and ugly of the 2nd week of May.
THE GOOD:
While unpredictable and somewhat limiting on outdoor activity, our cool and wet Spring has done absolute WONDERS for the landscape of the city! Green, lush, beautiful. Most notably this week, the azaleas have POPPED with color...
... one more pretty than the next! GORGEOUS!
THE BAD:
The cool, wet Spring has also done wonders for the WEEDS...
Ugh.
Sellers- I realize that it is a difficult battle, but it is time to go into full-blown combat as NOTHING destroys curb appeal like a yard full of dandelions.
THE UGLY:
No explanation needed...

Just for fun: Bathroom Time Capsule
In prepping of the list of my own mother's house, the contractor took off 2 layers of wallpaper in the basement bathroom to reveal THIS...
SERIOUSLY?? =O
"Vintage" is an understatement! Good grief.

Design Eye Candy: Vitrolite bathroom
Some aspects of my job stop me in my tracks (for good and bad reasons). Regardless, this was the case over the weekend. I had to stop, enjoy, and photograph =).The bathroom of the South City brick bungalow that one of my Buyers contracted over the weekend is so deliciously deco, that I had to share. The original pigmented Vitrolite Glass wall tile is in absolute MINT condition with no cracks, chips, or settling.
Beautiful, just beautiful.
Though pairing it with the mint condition original floor tile, built-in fixtures, and pedestal sink proves that some looks are timeless. Period. People say that everything that is old becomes new again eventually. This classic Art Deco bathroom design proves that statement.
An original bathroom as complete, pristine, and stylish as this one is a rarity. I had to share, as I find it breathtaking.

Peek at my morning...
I tend to stick to the good on the old bloggy blog. Sometimes, for fun, I show the bad. But this, my dear blog friends...

... was just UGLY. The bargain basement $160,000 price tag was not nearly tempting enough for my Buyers to consider tackling the serious water issues and subsequent damage plaguing this West County ranch. Hazmat anyone? Igh.

What were they THINKING?!
As I have said before, Realtors see it ALL. Period. Let's put it this way, it ensures the job is always interesting. Anyhoo, this little basement laundry room in a starter in Rockhill (63144) left both me and my Buyer asking the age old question this past Sunday...
... what were they thinking?!
