Just for Fun: Pinsperation- Pupsicle

Pinterest has quickly become my favorite place to organize my online ideas, inspirations, links, and recipes. While some of the little tips and tricks on Pinterest are clever, others turn out to be a complete and total disaster. Truly, the fun of the site!  Regardless, time-to-time I am going to start posting some of my favorites under the title "Pinsperation".

We have had a brutally hot summer, which means the kids (and pup) haven't spent as much time outside as they are accustomed to. Simply, during the major heat waves- boredom hits! This Pin may seem a tad silly, however...

PINTEREST SUGGESTED:

THE RESULT:
Frozen apples, a dab of peanut butter, and a peanut butter bone= Happy Poppy!  Just a little excitement on the brutally hot days when walks are short and fast to keep her safe.

Fun stuff!

West County is getting a dog park...

Though a somewhat controversial project, as it means demolishing a century old farmhouse and numerous historic out buildings, the proposed dog park at the corner of Baxter and Old Baxter in Chesterfield (just west of Baxter and Clarkson) is now a reality... Per the City of Chesterfield: they purchased this 18 acre historic farm from the Eberwein family several years ago for the purpose of developing a community park. The Eberwein family used this land as a working farm and their residence up until the time of purchase by the City.

Slated to open this summer, the park will be named after the Eberwein family who first settled in Chesterfield over 100 years ago. Amenities for the park site include a trail system, educational rain gardens, an open field for dog play, and restrooms.

The two acre dog park will have separate areas for small dog and all dog play along with a pavilion to provide shelter and an area to rest while watching the dogs at play.

To preserve the history and original charm of the site, the Eberwein Park is being designed as a casual community park with a farm-like theme. To accomplish this, the existing large red barn, originally constructed in the early 1900s, will be preserved and historically restored.

Though it is always heartbreaking to bid farewell to a historic home, this new area amenity is certain to become a community epicenter. Click HERE for more information about other dog parks in the St. Louis area.
