Better late than never...

Below are a few random mobile uploads from last weekend's Strassenfest that I had mentioned. Though the crowd was rather sparse due to stormy skies, a good time was still had by all. I'm not sold on the new West County location as I missed the vibe and authenticity of the traditional downtown site. That being said, hopefully the Strassenfest continues its rejuvenation and once financially feasible... eventually makes its way back home to Soldiers Memorial where it belongs.

Prost...

In normal route to snatch my caffeine before work this AM, I encountered this...

And this...

Looks like Chesterfield is buckling down for this weekend's Strassenfest?!

Strassenfest, which traditionally has been held downtown during the first weekend of August, was cancelled last year for financial reasons. Festival organizers decided to resurrect Strassenfest this year and move it to West County in hopes of rejuvenating the 50 year old tradition.

Though controversial to many who argue that Chesterfield doesn't boast the German heritage to play proper host to such event, many St Louisans (including myself) who love the event and attend it every year are just glad to see it back!

Nitty Gritty:

September 18 : 5 p.m. - 11 p.m.
September 19 : 12 p.m. - 11 p.m.
September 20 : 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.

This free family-oriented weekend will be held on the Chesterfield parkway (just West of Chesterfield Mall). Strassenfest will have 50 attractions for charity, food and beverages, craft booths, carnival rides, German entertainment, and more!
