Closed: #3200 Edgar in Downtown Maplewood

My, what a busy closing week it has been!  Spring market fun.

This adorable 1940 bungalow in Maplewood was passed along to a super lucky buyer this morning.  This one hits close to home for me, as I was friends with this Seller long before I became her real estate agent and sold her this cutie a few years ago.

Ms. R- what can I say?  I will miss you!  It has been super fun being a part of your St. Louis journey and getting to know your incredible parents and friends, to boot.  There is something special about selling someone a house to turn around and resell it a few years later as life has changed.  Thank you for allowing me to be the caretaker of this one as you forged ahead on your new desert adventure. Even though I now watch from afar - thank goodness for Facebook- I cannot WAIT to see what is next for you.

Love you R... congratulations and thanks again for trusting me with this.

Hidden Gem: Strange Donuts

After months of buzz and super hype in both print and social media...
Strange Donuts in Downtown Maplewood FINALLY opened its doors on Friday!  Since then, this has been the scene...

Lines not only out the door, but down the street!

The kids were away for the weekend on a Scout camping trip, so Steve and I popped by this new local spot during their late Saturday night hours to pick up a surprise for their return.

A peek at our adventure into the world of Strange Donuts...

We came, we saw, we got a little strange with a sampler of their creations...

Gooey Butter Cake,  Reese's Peanut Butter Cups,  Fruit Loops, S'mores, chicken and waffles complete with a Porter's chicken strip topping.

My husband, Steve, did have a bone to pick, however.   He is a donut purist and was not thrilled to find their chocolate long john is in fact named the "Fat Steve". Talk about dietary guilt when ordering one of THOSE at 10PM on a Saturday night. Ha ha.

All kidding aside, Strange Donuts is a fun adventure!  The donuts were fresh and delicious.  The line?
Well worth braving!

Hidden Gem: Vom Fass

I love getting introduced to new places in St. Louis!    Friends/clients, Steve and Erin, kindly gifted me with empty bottles and a gift card to Vom Fass at their recent house closing. Having never ventured into a Vom Fass store before, I was excited to check it out!

In the heart of downtown Maplewood ...

At #7314 Manchester Road, sits...

Vom Fass is a European-inspired oil, vinegar, and spirits shop which allows its customers to sample the products before purchase...

The Kindergarten version...

The staff is not only knowledgeable, but incredibly friendly and helpful. They know their products well and guided us through the store with ease, introducing us to lovely new flavor combinations and possibilities.

A peek of our visit...

We left Vom Fass with a bag full of goodies including 4 vinegars (pomegranate, apple, pear, and a high quality aged balsamic), 3 oils (lemon, pumpkin seed, and a good quality olive oil), a lovely cherry-infused vodka, and recipes to go with all. Thank you again, Smiths! =)

I highly recommend a visit to Vom Fass if you have never been. The tasting is fun, the staff is fantastic, and the product is second to none!  If you enjoy experimenting in the kitchen or are looking for a beautiful hostess gift, Vom Fass is the PERFECT destination.  Culinary adventure awaits!
