Buyer Tip...

In my opinion, the #1 first step to beginning a house hunt, after getting pre approved by a lender to determine your price range, is hitting Open Houses. Period. It is the ideal way to begin the narrowing process, as it allows you to gauge prices and amenities in the neighborhoods of your choice rather quickly and on your own time. Most Buyers find it to be the most effective way to narrow down what part of town they want to focus on with their Realtor.

Other people, like me prior to getting my license, just like peeking their heads into properties from time to time out of sheer curiosity. It is a GREAT way to get renovation/decorating ideas. It is also a fantastic way to determine the value of your own home, by attending your neighborhood Open Houses.

So, what is the best way to locate and map out local St. Louis Open Houses?

My company (and the largest brokerage in town), Coldwell Banker Gundaker, has created an excellent online search engine for weekly Open Houses. Long gone are the days of antiquated Sunday paper ads. Now the bulk of area Open Houses are at your finger tips, searchable by county and then school district. Click HERE to begin and happy hunting!
